Emergency Expertise You Can Trust

Before founding Las Vegas Cat Hospital, Dr. Ashley Love spent years as an emergency and critical care doctor at VECC (Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care)—one of the most well-known emergency hospitals in Las Vegas.

Dr. Love spent the first 8 years of her career in an emergency setting and has continued to work in a relief capacity at various emergency facilities on both the East Coast and the West Coast. Her extensive ER experience means she’s not only trained to recognize subtle signs of feline distress, but she’s also capable of acting quickly and decisively in life-threatening situations. Whether it’s difficulty breathing, trauma, a sudden collapse, or an unexplained behavioral change, Dr. Love has managed it all—with a calm, expert approach.

What Counts as a Cat Emergency?

Cats are notorious for hiding pain and illness. If you notice any of the following symptoms, it’s essential to seek veterinary care immediately:

  • Difficulty breathing or open-mouth panting

  • Severe vomiting or diarrhea

  • Straining in the litter box with no urine being produced

  • Sudden collapse or weakness

  • Unresponsiveness or extreme lethargy

  • Seizures or uncontrolled twitching

  • Bleeding or visible trauma

  • Ingestion of a toxin or foreign object

If you're unsure, call us. It’s always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to a cat emergency.

Advanced Diagnostics When It Matters Most

In emergency situations, timely and accurate diagnostics can make all the difference. That’s why Las Vegas Cat Hospital is fully equipped with state-of-the-art tools to assess your cat’s condition quickly:

🖥️ Ultrasound

Real-time imaging to detect internal bleeding, organ damage, fluid buildup, and more.

Fast, high-resolution images to evaluate trauma, fractures, or blockages.

Immediate results for organ function, urinalysis, and electrolytes to help guide treatment without delay.

All emergency diagnostics are performed in a Fear Free environment, using gentle handling techniques to keep your cat as calm and comfortable as possible.

Feline-Focused Emergency Care

Unlike general emergency hospitals, Las Vegas Cat Hospital treats cats only. That means no barking dogs, no loud environments—just a calm, cat-friendly space where your pet can receive focused, specialized care without added stress.

As a feline-only practice, we understand how to manage cat emergencies with a nuanced, cat-specific approach, reducing both fear and complications during treatment.
